Collaboration between government, the private sector, civil society and research institutions is important in accelerating progress on road safety.
Effective collaboration enables cooperation and shared problem solving, strengthens coordination, creates efficiencies, and builds common understanding and awareness of issues. It requires clear and shared goals, trust, and a mix skills and knowledge.
At the global level, the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC) is an informal consultative mechanism involving UN agencies and other international partners to implement UN General Assembly Resolutions on road safety. All member organizations have an international road safety profile and contribute to road safety improvements at regional and global levels.
Collaboration between organizations and individuals at the regional and local levels, and focused on specific issues, is also necessary for effective action on road safety. Examples of collaborations in global road safety include: Stop the Crash, Звездные рейтинги для школ (SR4S), Глобальный альянс НПО за безопасность дорожного движения, Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.
